Graduate Student Christie Hercik is awarded a White House Internship

Congratulations to Global Infectious Diseases student Christie Hercik, who has been awarded a prestigious internship at the White House! Christie will be working in the Office of Science and Tech Policy (Div. of International Affairs and Health Security) at the White House. She will be helping to draft a white paper to encourage the establishment of an International Consortium for Genomic Sequencing of EBOV. Through the development of this Consortium, field labs will be linked with notable international genomic research institutions (Broad, Sanger, Beijing Institute for G.S., etc.) to share specimens and enhance genomic research and molecular epi investigations during this critical time in the West African outbreak.

Well done, Christie!
